        Subject: LPR printer writer abends

I'm trying to set up printing via LPR to a LaserJat 4Si with JetDirect
card
from OS/400 4.3. (If I can ever get the 5.1 install media from IBM, I'll
upgrade...ordered it three weeks ago.) Starting the print writer succeeds,
but then the writer fails with an internal program error in module
WPPJLDR,
procedure Socket_Connect. The diagnostic message ID is CPD337A.

Looking through the archives, I see a couple of other folks have had this
problem. Has anyone out there successfully printed to a LaserJet via LPR
with the PCL driver?
