I'd started thinking along those lines, too, but wasn't sure how to advise 
about two programs reading the same entries. Since an entry wouldn't be removed 
when received that way, the programs would need to place explicit locks on the 
*dtaq during the times when an entry was being examined. The locks should be 
very short-lived.
