Steven, I would think that somewhere there is a difference on the PC side. When I look at the help for my version of Excel (2002 SP-2), I see that the maximum number of rows is 65,536. Is this by any chance the number of rows obtained when you write "over 65000 rows"? If that is the case, you may not be getting accurate results there either because you are exceeding the limits of Excel. According to Microsoft Technet, the maximum number of rows in Excel 97 is 16,384. I find these numbers uncannily similar to the ones you report. I realize you think that all of your users are running the same version of Excel, but it might be a good thing to double check. I would also verify on the AS/400 how many rows should be obtained. Given your numbers, it's a good chance that no one is getting the right amount.
