Something seems to be slowing SMTP on our system down. When I 1st configured SMPT on our machine, the time lag from when I 1st submitted the SNDDST command to when I would receive the email was almost nothing. Now there is a time lag of about 49 seconds from the time the command is submitted to when I see the job go though QMSF. (is this typical??) With three QMSF jobs running and submitting a larger number of emails to send (via 3rd party software) we are seeing the following results: 15 QMSF QMSF 325282 09/03/02 08:34:48 15 QMSF QMSF 325281 09/03/02 08:34:49 15 QMSF QMSF 325280 09/03/02 08:34:50 16 QMSF QMSF 325281 09/03/02 08:35:55 16 QMSF QMSF 325282 09/03/02 08:35:55 16 QMSF QMSF 325280 09/03/02 08:35:56 17 QMSF QMSF 325282 09/03/02 08:37:01 17 QMSF QMSF 325281 09/03/02 08:37:01 17 QMSF QMSF 325280 09/03/02 08:37:02 Where previously we had seen (though not monitored) 11 emails go through in a very short time. I've opened a call with IBM but the person I'm working with seems to be stumped. Anyone seen this before and know what to look for? (SMTP has been given a cold start, config has been looked at, etc.) There are no network issues, this is all within our own firewall through our W2K outlook server. TIA, Dale
