I had a similar problem with a Win98 Dell - exact same error
messages. IBM Support walked me thru a test, using the
Windows Hyperterm pgm to prove the pc was the problem,
specifically in the communication protocols. I loaded WinXP Pro
which replaced all the win ip protocols, and now works fine.
Sorry - I don't remember the test, it was many steps.
Their recommend was to uninstall all the protocols and re-install
them. Then recreate the modem.
Before I did the pc upgrade, I took another W98 pc, loaded
Ops Console, and worked fine, further proving my pc was hosed.
