on the as/400 models where the twinax port was directly
on the back of the machine - yes.
if the as/400 twinax controller has a db25 pin connection, there is
a heavy cable with a block of twinax ports (which I assume
is what you call a twinax hub?) at the other end of the
cable. You cannot bypass that cable/hub.
