Andy's reference got me to this book - http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QBKAWE01/G.1.2?SHELF=QBK AYC06&DT=19940312052430 which has diagrams for the cables you need to do this. I think we used to use a device called a "mini-matcher" which allowed us to use standard rs232 cables in place of the special IBM cables. The mini-matcher allowed you to move the signal coming in on pin x to another pin of your choice. You could do that for as many pins as needed. You could check the pin outs on your cable with on ohm meter so you know you've got the right cables. hth, Ray _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
