Since there were several posts explaining how to 'walk the tree' from devd
to ctld to lind to resource, perhaps I misunderstand the intent of the
question.  What business problem are you trying to solve?  Also, what sort
of device?  For instance, a virtual terminal like QPADEV0001 has no resource
name - it's implemented with software, not hardware.
