The short answer is we need to add the disk fast. I know upgrading to V4R5
should be simple, but I still have to plan it, and--worse--justify it.

The good news is that it turns out the hardware is indeed supported by V4R4.
Though IBM took all reference to V4R4 out of the configurator and the web
site, there's at least three people (including you) whose memory can't be
deleted so easily. This is why human beings are better than machines.

Why such hesitancy to upgrade your IBM software?  Upgrades from V4R4 to
V4R5 or V5R1 are commonplace and have been done without significant
error.  It seems unusual to structure a hardware purchase to avoid an
upgrade.
