IMHO the 36 environment is replicated at SSP 7.5, and everythig that ran on the 
36 will run on the M36 machine
or the 36EE. I'm not 100% certain about the 36EE though, you may want to check 
that with IBM.
The Basic compiler on the 36 was a licenced product, and I believe it too will 
run in these envoironments.

An M36 compiled program cannot be moved over to the 36EE environment and be 
run, the source must be compiled
in the 36EE area.
To run in the 36EE environment, I believe all the old source code must be 
re-compiled in the 36EE area.
