        fooled with different ccsid codes, finally just pasted an empty txt 
file in the directory, and used *file
        worked great....

*PCASCII option is availble on some Versions/PTF's.

Otherwise, you we use 1252 for PC files.  Just checking, but I see some as 437 
also.
