Isn't also a matter of the fact that OS/400 wouldn't react to every keystroke like a PC does? Would you want the CPU to inspect every keystroke saying "Did they press CTL, did they press ALT did they press......." That's what I meant about the iSeries being a block mode versus character mode processing. John --------------------- In your statement about the 400 not having a bit mapped display, were you referring to all, or just some of the many clients that the 400 supports: PC's, net stations, dumb terminals, etc...
