Your ISP is a news server, and it decides what newsgroups IT provides. Dave's server is another news server, and it provides this newsgroup. You can hook up to both. IBM also has news servers that are accessible to us. IE can handle newsgroups. So can Netscape Messenger. Personally, I use Forte's Agent. $29 US. There is a free version called, of all things, Free Agent. <www.forteinc.com> for details. Free Agent is readily available at ZDNET, TUCOWS, etc., probably. One benefit of news clients is that you can see the pattern of responses to postings.
