O.k., why does replying to your post (which I read in Outlook Express) start up Eudora? Is your post "newsgroup"-aware? When I tried to reply to this in Eudora, it responded that there was a .DLL missing and GPF'd. David, allow me to be the one to embarrass myself here and say that, although I've heard of newsgroups for years, I've never experienced one before. What does the newsgroup option have over the same old emails we've been living with for years now? Is there a primer out there about what newsgroups are, what software you need to use them, how to use them, etc.? Does my ISP have to allow access to specific newsgroups? (I thought I remembered that ISPs decide what newsgroups to allow into their network?????) - Dan Bale David wrote: Folks: I'm pleased to announce that MIDRANGE-L is now available to be read as a newsgroup! Point your favorite newsreader to news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.hardware.ibm.midrange and read to your hearts content. For those of you who do not have a news client that understands the news url, the servers name is news.gmane.org, and the newsgroup is 'gmane.comp.hardware.ibm.midrange'. You still need to be subscribed to the list in order to contribute, but you can set your subscription options to "No Mail", so you do not receive each individual messages. If MIDRANGE-L is handled well enough, I'll probably start offering other lists as newsgroups also.
