Regarding the purchase of V5R1. In the UK it is only available via software subscription, it is probably the same over there in the US. As far as I am aware the 150 will not run V5R2, so purchasing software subscription for a single release of OS/400 may not be cost effective. It might be better to buy a second hand 250 or 270 with a greater life time.
