I remember using this to power down, but never to power up. Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." I can image trying to explain this to someone over the phone when I'm not in. Thanks. I think IBM should rethink this. Regards, Jim Langston From: "Urbanek, Marty" <Marty_Urbanek@stercomm.com> Jim, I think you have to do a control panel func 3 to start the IPL. The catch is, you have to be in manual mode to do the func 3. So you set it for B M and then do the func 3, and then (while it begins its IPL process) you use the control panel to change it back to B N. That is what you used to do when it was a mechanical key switch and I think that still applies to the new control panels. -Marty _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
