Google is good I agree, certainly better than IBM's own search engines for
their own webpages!

A replacement for the manuals Library Reader search ... I don't think so.

Have you guys tried searching with Google (www.google.com)?  Use the
advanced search, specify the site as ibm.com and search on whatever
keywords you need.
