I've done the bigger leap than suggested twice, but not to 5.1.
but only with simple systems and lots of time.
how simple a system is this?
no attempt to restore journals?
no spool files?
no users?
no config?
what's happening with client access?
complex authorities on objects? authority lists?
system values compared?

just regular user data & programs?
if this is side by side can you make a test run?
Read ever Memo to User for every release in between
