I have seen "different" results doing the same thing... It just seems
to vary from machine to machine, although I must admit, a "vary off"
certainly wouldn't hurt.. Twinax seems to remain very stable under
"almost" all cases. I have removed and added twinax many times with no
apparent harm...

Async is a "whole different" critter on the 400 and as
such, is dumb as a stick when it comes to recovery. When you lose a
ethernet LAN or even a token ring, it just doesn't want to "come back"
every single time.....(Different recovery routines from twinax)

Here is my point to remember .... twinax was written into base OS/400,
while TCP and ethernet are "added on" layers that did not get the kind
of "coding treatment" twinax got.

Twinax remains my all time favorite for any "critical" device...

The console of ALL my customers has a twinax device on it .....

I will NOT put a system in the situation of not being able to continue
running just because a pc or a cable had a failure of some sort...
(human failure also counts)

(but I'm an old guy, sooo what do I know ?)
