Looks like I found the problem:
> Option 12:
> Host name . . . . . . . . . . . 'host'
> Domain name . . . . . . . . . . 'domain.com'
> Host name search priority . . . *LOCAL
I had domain name as host.domain.com instead of domain.com as you
show. I guess it was the help text that led me down the wrong path
here:
" Example of how to use the DMNNAME parameter to specify this system's
TCP/IP domain name:
CHGTCPDMN DMNNAME (dom1.abc.com) "
