Turning AS400 back on

Back to the continuing saga ...

Well, we got the ethernet card installed into this 9402 400  and hit the
power on but I didn't know what IPL command I need to put my system to
to boot up and detect the network card - and what I need to put it to
when im all said and done because following the instructions I have
looked at they all just sya hit the power on button but to power off
they tell me to go I into manual mode with IPL "02 B M" -

Is there any way to tell if the system is frozen or anythiung / how do I
know the system is coming back up (I know it's a long painful wait but
we are @ 30 minutes now)
