I'm sorry, but I can't agree with you. ILE stands for Integrated Language Environment. On the AS/400, the only version of RPG IV that exists is also the version of RPG that runs in the Integrated Language Environment. Thus "ILE RPG". And the reason you used the term "pseudo" in "pseudo OPM programs" is because, although it can behave like an OPM program, it's never REALLY an OPM program. It's always ILE. But thats on the AS/400, where ILE exists. The reason IBM's VARPG and ASNA's Visual RPG run "RPG IV" instead of "ILE RPG" (which are NOT the same thing) is because there is no ILE for the PC. Or at least, I haven't seen one. To say that VARPG is "ILE RPG" is not correct. You are correct in saying that "ILE RPG means RPG IV", but the opposite is not true, RPG IV does *not* mean ILE RPG. Why? Because ILE implies that it runs in the Integrated Language Environment, which doesn't exist (AFIAK) for the PC.
