On the East Coast (EST), change to -05:00, CST change to -06:00, PST change to -08:00, etc. This is the number of hours (timezones) west of GMT. If you were in Europe (east of GMT), these would be "+" numbers. BTW - Try to remember to change this again when the time changes in April and October (if you're in a daylight savings time area).
