Will putting the following in your program be acceptable? CHGAUT OBJ('/myifsdir/myifsobj.txt') USER(*PUBLIC) DTAAUT(*RWX) OBJAUT(*ALL) Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin "Steve Richter" <srichter@AutoCoder To: <MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com> .com> cc: Sent by: Fax to: midrange-l-admin@mi Subject: IFS file authority drange.com 03/01/2002 10:29 AM Please respond to midrange-l Troops, When I run CPYTOSTMF to copy to a file in the IFS, *Public has no rights to use the file and the user gets "access denied" when they open the file from their pc. I then use option 9=Work with authority from the WRKLNK display, grant *PUBLIC *RWX rights to the file and the user can then access the file. CPYTOSTMF does not have a PUBAUT parameter ? How can my batch pgm grant authority to an IFS file ? Can a user could be given all rights to all files created in a directory, for now and forever ?
