If you write your file out with RPG, using the API's, You have control over all the flags. I would recommend that method. You don't have the same choices with CPYTOSTMF John Carr ------------------------------------------------------------------- Troops, When I run CPYTOSTMF to copy to a file in the IFS, *Public has no rights to use the file and the user gets "access denied" when they open the file from their pc. I then use option 9=Work with authority from the WRKLNK display, grant *PUBLIC *RWX rights to the file and the user can then access the file. CPYTOSTMF does not have a PUBAUT parameter ? How can my batch pgm grant authority to an IFS file ? Can a user could be given all rights to all files created in a directory, for now and forever ? Thanks, Steve Richter
