You have mentioned the "magic words" that nobody else on this thread has -- "twinax card". As long as you're on twinax, you can end the system to a restricted state from just about anywhere by issuing a "TFRJOB QCTL" command prior to doing so. The as-yet unmentioned caveat is that, if you're running a TCP/IP connection (as most of us are these days), you cannot issue the ENDTCP command without the twinax connection to achieve a "true" restricted state.
