It works!

I had to set up a WINS server, and declare the NT box on that, and tell
Netserver about the WINS server, and make sure the usrprf and password
on the 400 that created the map and accessed it matched a user and
password on the NT box... but then I could both wrklnk
'/QNTC/servername' and drill down through the directories, and access
the files, and see it all on Ops Nav. (again, signed on as the same
user).

Different domain, different subnet, through a firewall, one on ethernet
and the other on token-ring, IP the only protocol routing across the
WAN.

So there you go. You can access any NT server, anywhere, (as long as you
can ping it) from a green-screen commandline (and therefore app) on the
400. Good job IBM.
