        Since his original posting ("Every now and then we loose contact to
a printer from the AS/400 we cannot ping that IP-address from the AS/400
anymore") said it works and then quits, I don't think it is a subnet issue.
Also, if the two addresses are this close (x.x.66.222 and x.x.66.223 ) then
there is not much of a chance that of a subnet split being the issue.

          Oliver, couple of question;

            1.) If you power cycle the IPDS converter box does it clear the
problem ?

            2.) Run a trace route to the x.x.66.222 & x.x.66.223 when the
link is functioning and
                    then again when the link goes down and compare the
results.

            3.) Can you telnet to the IPDS converter ? If so what
diagnostics are available.
