Then don't use the native AS/400 mail support, which IMHO stinks anyway. Use
a third party tool that doesn't require the AS/400 have mail support
configured, there are a couple I believe. We rolled our own but it uses our
existing Exchange server to do the sending and there is zero AS/400 side
configuration required, just call a program and tell it the remote address
and message.
