Hi, this is my second post to this thread. I'm trying to use (actually testing) VPN via the Watchguard firebox and the "Mobile User VPN" client. It's still dropping my session after about 10 minutes of "inactivity". Today, I tried a constant ping in a DOS session, continuously doing a ping while I was working in a CA session. I stopped hitting keys for about 10 minutes, and it dropped me anyway. Even with the ping going constantly...dropped it too. I'm at a loss as to what to try next. Surely, someone out there is using VPN to an AS400 with good results? It seems, with all the hype, it's gotta work better than those on this list have found. My first test at using the internet as a big ol' lan was a couple years ago. I had my AS400 dial into my regular dial-up ISP, "remembered" the IP assigned, and used it to access my 170 remotely. It too would drop after a few minutes of inactivity. So, I just wrote a little CL to do a ping then delay 5 minutes, in a loop. This pgm was added to my startup program for the user profile I used for remote access. This connection would stay up for days at a time. AS/Resources, Inc.
