Have you tried to telnet to the other box?  This will confirm that the
TCP/IP things are working correctly.

|My organization is trying to establish 400 passthru and SNADS
|by using an APPC/TCPIP T1 based connection between our home
|box and a remote 400 at one of our remote site warehouses.

|We have created (or auto-created) line (*ELAN), controller and
|device descriptions (*NET) for the ethernet side and also for
|the APPC components. The ethernet objects are ACTIVE at both
|places but we cannot get passthru enacted as the APPC
|components are stuck at Vary On Pending and the STRPASTHR
|command is failing (no surprise).
