That is correct. All I want is to get data from the Series/1 using a BSC line. I got LINE,CTL and DEVICE 'ACTIVE' when using *PGM defined but *RJE wont sync with Series/1 (CTL and DEV stays PENDING). It shouldn't be that difficult to read from a line. Would ASYNC be easier to use on the AS400? Or I would have to deal with ICF either way. But I've seen consultants get hired who knew less than what you've indicated here in this post. So you qualify as an AS/400 pgmr... LOL...! Seriously, I saw your thread a few weeks ago on "BSC line read program - Plan B". Is this a continuation of the question of how to get data from a Series/1 via RJE? If so, I'm sure there are people on this list who can post a little RPG/DDS code to do this.. but I'm not one of them... jt | -----Original Message----- | From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com | [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of jleyden@co.la.ca.us | Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 4:34 PM | To: midrange-l@midrange.com | Subject: RE: Command to read from a (communication) LINE | Importance: High | | | am not an AS400 programmer, | is there a command (CL) that reads any data | from a BSC line.
