Why can you only get XP? Windows 2000 is still available from most (all?)
laptop companies. Or is this a corporate directive? Hell, I'm a pro-MS bigot
and I'm not prepared to make XP a corporate directive. We just got a new
round of laptops from Dell and I had them shipped w/W2K.

Subject: Windows XP

My laptop has crashed and burned. I can only get a new one with XP. So I was
making sure all the software I use now and in future will work on it. So far
so good. Till 400 type stuff. I am looking on IBM site but info is scattered
so has anyone tried to run:

Client Access Express Windows XP & V5R1 CAX on XP?
Also the new development tools for RPG etc on a XP machine? ODBC to a 400 on
XP?

I have a 720 at V4R4 now and will upgrade to V5R1 in 1st or second quarter
of 2002. We use ODBC to excel, the IFS and CAX.

Thanks for any testimonials or pitfalls to watch out for.
