That is what M$ is trying to do. The home version is the "idiot" version of
the professional. I bet for any development, you are going to have to use XP
pro because the home version has been rigged so it will not work as well.

Just another monopolistic move to make even more money!

IBM's CA site makes this clear in a lot of areas.
We also are using XP on a fax server and Professional was much better than
Home.

I have not run this myself.  But from speaking with a tech friend that had
to support a new XP laptop... if you have to get XP be sure to get XP
Professional and not XP Home.  He had a horrendous time trying to get XP
Home to attach to their VPN.  He did not have any problems with XP
Professional.
