If you read their web page, they explain that they are not connecting to anyone.

A spammer has harvested an email address that points to die.net, and they are 
trying to send email to that address with Nathan's
server.

So, they are slowing the spammer down and letting nathan know that he's got a 
problem.

He can fix it quickly by deleting the emails destined for die.net, and then fix 
it for good by following the mail-abuse.org
directions.
