actually, for that client, no, it WAS the right thing to do. 7 users, well
defined problem, solved by multiple companies on NT supported software,
everyone had pc's already, just needed to add a server and the software....
not a $60k hardware upgrade plus another $50-70k to Y2K the existing,
custom, COBOL software on the 400 all without any enhancements to the
software, not to mention the ongoing support. For THIS client it ended up
being 1/10 the cost.
