James,

Let me try a different approach:

We both have egos. There's no good yardstick, but I'd venture to guess that
I don't have the ego problem that you think I have...

But one of the issues in these kinds of debates is always: who's judgment do
you trust... You can always find opposing views on how to do things around
here. That's 'bout as certain as death and taxes...;-)

I've stated that I don't think much of the business model of OSS
development. You've sort-of staked a claim in that territory, with a
different view of things... But just because I don't agree with you, on
this particular issue, that IN NO WAY implies I don't trust your judgment...
That's not the case at all...!

In fact, I'm pretty sure I posted to AAG, "Why don't we contact James
Kilgore and see if he wants to help us GET A DAGGONE 501(c) SET UP...! AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE...!" If I didn't post it, I was sure thinkin it...

In case there is any question about my trusting your judgment: I'm in the
process of working up, what I would consider, a much more viable business
model for something similar to OSS, James. Assuming you'd keep it to
yourself, I'd like your views on this model. I have nothing on paper, as
yet, but figure to put something together the next day or so (same thing
I've been saying past few days, though...;-)

I don't care one way or the other, whether you have an interest, James. But
it would accomplish several things:

1) You could see my ideas on OSS clearly defined.
2) You would see I don't mind contrary opinions, but won't necessarily take
them.
3) Just by asking, you can get a better idea of my view of your judgment.
4) You'll probably see I wasn't puffing up your pride about the 501(c)
stuff, above, or by asking your opinions.

Since this business model is probably one of the few competitive edges we
have, at this stage of the game: ***All I'd ask is that you wouldn't print,
post, e-mail *or say* ANYTHING about this, until it's about ready to be
released to the public!*** I accept an e-handshake as sufficient, if my
"co-conspirators" do...

Let me know, off-list or on...

jt
