I agree with R. Bruce that you can run it during the day, I have done so
several times myself without impact. We are on a 620-2179 and have 64G used
out of 94.
By the way, RTVDSKINF is really the way to go too. You are going to love
the reports.

12 G huh? Looks like a winner.
ps. If you can run the dspobjd during the day, you can afford to run the
rtvdskinf during the day also. Most systems that I have run this on finish
in less than a couple of hours. It runs at priority 50 in the QSYSWRK
subsystem and usually has less impact on normal interactive and batch jobs
than a dspobjd command.
