I work with Lansa as well and they are focused primarily on the Iseries. Their
product also runs on Windows and Unix.

I don't speak for them, but I guess they have the same idea that my company
does, the Iseries is the best solution, but I simply
cannot sell an Iseries every time I go to a new customer. I have to open my
software solutions to all comers. Lansa does that for
me.

FWIW, I don't use the Lansa for the web product much, but I've done some
projects. I find that I have to write a lot of HTML and
some Javascript to get things right. The code that I write is saved and
automatically integrated by Lansa, but I just can't get a
"web type" web page right out of the box, it sort of looks like WSG.

However, if that interface is acceptable, a program written for green screen
converts to HTML instantly. And windows instantly.

We used their Visual Lansa product to develop our trucking/transportation
package from the ground up. We are happy with that
product. Our biggest complaint is that we now have to use PC's, and we have
installation issues, Windows version issues sometimes,
etc.

They are talking about Visual Lansa being able to be run in the browser by
encapsulating it as a SOAP object or something. I'm not
sure exactly what that is, but if I can write VL code that runs in a browser,
it will be awesome.
