You may already have a spare box laying around which means you could implement this for $0. A heckuva lot easier to maintain since there are already companies doing this for you. Security updates to ssh would be no problem to install. Lots of other good reasons to make things easy on yourself. I guess I'm thinking this, "Use the right system for the right job." Most things networked started out unix, and unix is dang good at it. OS/400 is dang good at database and business stuff. Windows is dang good at, um, I'll think of something...
