Jeff: Couple of things. If your modem is an async modem, the you probably want to do dial up PPP or SLIP. Depends on the OS version you have. Slip was supported at v3r6 or 7 and PPP at V4R1. You can config SLIP without ops navigator. Look at the command CFGTCPPTP for a little more info. Basically on one AS400 you create the *DIAL profile and the *ANS profile on the other. Once you establish the connect, then you can FTP or DDM over it. If you have sync modems, you would config a dial up SDLC connection, and do SNADS or DDM over it. cjg Carl J.
