Well, well, well. It seems the reason for all the confusion is a simple
mistake our illustrious CE made about 2 years ago. He entered the S/N
into our rack config incorrectly. Therefore the rack config we printed
for the business partner (Sirius) to start our Service Suite was
incorrect. It was no fault of Sirius or Avnet, it was the IBM CE.
(Attn Rob B: Do you think Mike W is going to get a ribbing from Dave C
for this? I wish I could be a mouse in the room to hear it. <vbg>)

A CE is supposed to be here within the hour to straighten it out, and
the contracts with IBM are supposed to be corrected.

I have no problem with that CE making a mistake. We are all human and
entitled to be human. I trust that CE with any part of my equipment,
explicitly. I'm glad he's younger than me because I don't want another
CE until I retire.

I DO have a problem, however, with how IBM handled it. Throughout the
entire thing I was made to feel like I was either totally inept or
trying to pull a fast one. There was no sympathy/empathy whatsoever
from the IBM people for my plight. Thank God I wasn't down. Even after
I told IBM I had an IBM document stating that S/N was here, they simply
didn't believe me. She literally said IBM could not have made that
mistake.

I'll let you all know how it all comes out. And yes, I'm going to ask
for some paper from IBM proving they know exactly what I have on
maintenance.
