When you purchase the 270 it will come with its own lic for the OS. Moving the licpgms requires that when you install them on the 270 you delete then from the 170. Now lets assume all you have on the 170 is OS, RPG, SEU and CA/400. Now you move your licpgms to the 270. You can use SEU to write RPG code and compile it on the 270 and moved the compiled programs to the 170 and run them. Now since you moved your CA/400 lics to the 270 you can't legally use CA/400 for GreenScreen, Printer or DataTransfer funtions on the 170. You could however access the 270 and then use PassThru access the 170. hope this helps
