Get your top top management to have a letter with like CEO signature, authorizing IBM techs to bust your security for the purpose of restarting security. Call IBM & have them do so. Years ago we relocated & IBM did the work on resetting up the hardware at our new offices. They were having trouble connecting ONE of the hard drives & needed to run some diagnostics, BUT that was the hard drive that had the security files on it & we also could not sign on because the security not working. Well IBM has a way around that, but needs signature from customer authorizing their personnel to do so. Fortunately our CEO was in the building while this going on, on a weekend, because he was very interested in knowing that the system would be up & running with normal operations the following Monday, and also if any problem, he wanted to be there to authorize whatever might be needed, without any delay. From: jlangston@celsinc.com (Jim Langston) Okay, I think I'm in deep bandini. I tried this, put the key in, selected manual mode from the remote control panel, selected option 21, pressed enter and... nothing happened. The Remote Control Panel showed 21 00. So I try to open up the console... and am asked for the user name and password. Nothing works now, not the 1's, not the 2's, not QSECOFR, all disabled. I'm thinking that even if I manual IPL I'll be asked for the user name and password and can't get in. What do I do? Right now my AS/400 is running, but it is fairly common for someone to modify or add a new day-end process that waits for a message and we have to get on the console to answer the message to restart QINTER. I'm starting to panic a little bit here. Service tools user profiles 6. Select option 5. Enable - for the user profiles in question 7. Back to DST main menu and F3 to exit. 8. Switch back to normal mode and remove key. - Also note that the DST passwords as of V5R1 are case sensitive (and can be up to 128 bytes long).
