This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Boy, the list sure is slow today. The specifics for this escape me at the moment, but from what I recall: If you're printing to an IP-addressed printer (and who doesn't these days?), some of the print file attributes, notably PAGERANGE, do not work. I thought I had heard that IBM fixed this or provided a PTF for this in later releases, but since I'm stuck at V3R2 for the moment, it doesn't solve my problem. I have been using a homegrown utility that was cobbled together from other published code. It works well, it involves copying the spool file, but it keeps all the attributes of the original file. Although, now I'm somewhat skeptical since there was a thread yesterday about the "print text" that prints at the bottom of each page; we never use PRTTXT, so I've never had a chance to test it. If you're still interested, let me know and I'll pass the code on to you. Also, Brad Stone's shareware utility SPLTOOL (sp?) handles this issue and many others. It's a beautiful piece of work and I recommend you check it out at www.bvstools.com. BTW, Brad started the thread on the PRTTXT problem.
