Hey gang,

We are about to formerly implement ILE, or not, at our shop. I have been using
it for years and feel pretty comfortable with the basics. Modules and service
programs have made their ways into our production environment and now we want
to come out with a formal plan of development. I am on the team that will make
the decision for the whole group and am way on the side (not sure if it's right
or left, but it's probably considered the left) of implementing ILE. However,
there are also folks on the team who oppose, or are apprehensive, implementing
ILE. We go back and forth debating the related issues and have had some great
conversations.

Our development shop is large and some of the concerns expressed are centered
around the learning curve associated with the whens, whys, and hows of ILE.

We have Web and CRM apps that hit our RPG business rules and DB2 data and are
looking into future customer self-service and web service apps. ILE, in my
opinion, is a nice fit with those technologies. I also see the direction IBM is
taking the language and don't want our shop to left behind.

I am looking for case studies, horror/success stories, and any other nuggets
related to implementing ILE. If there is anyone out there who's gone through a
similar exercise, I'd love to hear about it.

If I had my way, I'd go full speed ahead with ILE implentation, but that's just
me. I am willing to listen to my counterpart's opinions and hopefully gain some
insight from others in the industry who have already gone through a formal-like
implementation.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin Vandever.
