If a user submits a job, and the resulting job goes into message wait, they should get a message. However, if they do not, or if you want to pelt them with constant reminders, you could use the job api's. We do have some old programs that use the job api's to notify the people if they have a job in MSGW. It will also notify some systems people. Could be modified to use email, paging, etc. Rob Berendt ================== A smart person learns from their mistakes, but a wise person learns from OTHER peoples mistakes. We have program provided by a vendor, that sometimes causes a msgw that needs to be answered... We don't have the source code for this batch job... but my question is this... How do I tell the system, to notify the user they need to answer a message... Is their an option for this at the system level, or do I need to use job api's set on a 1 minute delay to look for jobs with a msgw status, and notify the user that way... just wondering, tim... _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
