I appreciate the history and all...but I was there too. The VAR where I worked was a 36 shop, we got a beta B10 in 1987. So I know how it all started. Even with all the history, I'm still not sure what I'm running --- M36 or S36EE?????? I guess it's M36, since I just restored from a S36 tape, the data restored to QS36F, I recompiled the pgms, set the environment to be *S36 and it was off and running. The pgms are RPG36. I believe the reason for having to even recompile is that I had to piece together the system from a crashed disk and poor backups, had to track down an ex-employee of the now-defunct software vendor who happened to have a diskette of the programs. The user profiles of the users who use this say: Special environment . . . . . . *S36 To get into it, I enter STRS36. I've mingled some RPGLE pgms in (stand-alone) for utility stuff, running on logical files build over the QS36F library.......M36, right????? Thanks for all your help. AS/Resources, Inc.
