iNation etc started out alright, but where is it now?
what
support does it have? from its "citizens" that are
infighting?
From IBM that seems to have dropped the ball like a
hot
potato (mixing a few metaphors here...)?
The whole thing makes me think of a quote by Fred Brooks:
(the mythical man-months chapter 11):
"things are always at their best in the beginning" said Pascal.
C.S.Lewis has stated it more perceptively:
"That is the key to history. Terrific energy is expended
-
civilizations are built up - excellent institutions
devised;
But each time something goes wrong. Some fatal
flaw
always brings the selfish and cruel people to the
top,
and then it all slides back into misery and ruin. In
fact,
the machine conks. It sems to start up alright and
runs
a few yards, and then it breaks down"
