It remains to be seen if any other vendors will support it, but that seems likely. .Net mimics the machine independent architecture of AS/400 and goes it one better in that it directly supports inheritance. Since it's newer, it has the benefit of what has been learned by it's predecessors. I'll bet it will need the next generation of CPUs from Intel to run properly too, so Daddy Warbucks'll like it.
